Finally made it back to JM Massage Studio again
And honestly… it was the same foreign friend who introduced me to this place in the first place. She came back to Chiang Mai this trip and was SO determined to return to this exact massage shop on Chang Klan Road. She had a massage here last year and never forgot it. She even remembered the therapist who treated her and said something like, “Her skills felt like a massage teacher’s level.” She still says it was one of the best massage experiences she’s ever had in Thailand.
This time she went for the same signature oil + Thai massage blend again because she loves how relaxing it is while still getting those proper Thai stretching techniques. Meanwhile, I decided to try one of their newer treatments — the warm candle oil massage that the front staff recommended. Now I totally understand why people are loving it lately. The warm oil felt sooo comforting, smelled amazing, and the therapist was so good I almost fell asleep. I left feeling ridiculously relaxed and light.
They also let us use their herbal balm during the massage. Plus they added a warm Bianstone compress around the neck and shoulders at the end, which honestly felt sooo nice. And the best part is… those little extras are already included on top of the normal session.

What I really appreciate is that the shop still maintains its standards so well — the atmosphere, customer care, and therapist skills are consistently great. My friend literally said, “Totally worth coming back for again.” And honestly, the prices are really reasonable too. For the quality and overall experience, it feels more than worth it. Pretty sure she’s going to drag me back here again next year.
If you’re staying around Chang Klan, Night Bazaar, Shangri-La, Astra Sky River, or Astra Suites, I honestly recommend giving this place a try. The shop is super easy to find too — it’s located across from and slightly diagonal to The Empress Hotel
