Illegal Livestock Trafficking Suppression

According to General Prayut Chan-o-cha, the Prime Minister/Director of Internal Security Operations Command has an intensive policy to intercept, suppress and arrest illegal livestock trafficking. The conclusions of illegal livestock trafficking on protecting the national interests are as follows:


Incident 1 : On November 14, 2021, at 1.30 am, while an operations team of Infantry Company 1742 was patrolling at the natural border path, they met two Thai men herding seven oxen across the border near Tham Pha Mon checkpoint, Sop Pong sub-district, Pang Mapha district, Mae Hong Son province. After investigating, there is no import permit or evidence of animal quarantine station. The operations team took the offenders and oxen to an inquiry official for further investigation.
Incident 2 : On November 14, 2021, at 3.30 am, while an operations team of Infantry Company 3608 was performing duty, they met nine people carrying twenty-seven oxen with five pickup trucks at Ban Mae Suat checkpoint, Mae Suat sub-district, Sop Moei district, Mae Hong Son province. After investigating, there is no import permit. The operations team took the offenders and oxen to an inquiry official for further investigation.
Incident 3 : On November 16, 2021, at 2 am, while an operations team of Infantry Company 1742 was performing duty, they met four people carrying eight buffalos with four pickup trucks at Ban Na Pu Pom, Na Pu Pom sub-district, Pang Mapha district, Mae Hong Son province. After investigating, there is no import permit. The operations team took the offenders and buffalos to an inquiry official for further investigation.


In this regard, Lt.Gen. Apichet Suesat, Commander of the 3rd Army Area/3rd Army Area Operations Center, is aware of Lumpy Skin Disease which may come with livestock Products and concern about people’s health. He has emphasized the performance of border guards overwatch the illegal livestock trafficking from neighboring countries that may bring more diseases into the country and protect the national interests in collecting taxes and controlling the epidemic intensively. If anyone has seen the illegal livestock trafficking or knows the whereabouts of other illegal actions, please kindly inform the military personnel in the area to lead to concrete suppression and interception legally.
